TOLEDO, Ohio — Damage to a gas line on the Anthony Wayne Trail in south Toledo Thursday has caused lane closures while crews repair it.

According to a Columbia Gas spokesperson, a third party contractor hit a gas line on the Anthony Wayne Trail between Western Avenue and City Park Thursday morning.

To facilitate repairs, Toledo police shut down southbound lanes heading out of downtown Toledo between City Park and Western.

Crews are working to repair the issue. Columbia Gas crews will remain on site until its repaired. The spokesperson was not able to provide a timeline as to when the repairs would be complete.

Columbia Gas said motorists should avoid the area if possible.
