Construction Crew Hits Gas Line on East Side - 1340 WJOL

A high pressure gas line that was struck by a construction crew on the city’s east side snarled traffic on one major road. The incident happened just before noon Monday, when a crew near Jackson and Willard Streets struck the main. Nicor was on the scene assisting with capping the line. Crews closed off Jackson Street between Youngs and Garnsey Avenues for several hours.
